Pumpkins 2010

This weekend we went to go look at pumpkins and animals with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Rae Rae and K. Liam loved running around the wide open spaces and through the maze chasing everyone. The highlight of the day was the ducks... actually, it was more the fence keeping Liam away from the ducks, which he tried to scale over and over again, but let's say it was the ducks! Liam looks forward to the fall weather arriving so we can go apple / pumpkin picking again in true New England fall temperatures!

I Have Style!

Basement Remodel 2010 is underway. Pictures to be posted once complete - we promise. Painting is upon us, and a decision needed to be made. Liam took charge (literally, all by himself):

Cozy Coupe

Liam was such a good little man down at the Cape, we wanted to get him a "prize". We wanted to get "woof, woof"... long story... but couldn't find him. So, we went with the Cozy Coupe. Here's the story...

A few months ago Liam and I went for a walk. We saw a "coupe" in a neighbor's yard and Liam made a bee-line right for it. When I told him that no one was home and we couldn't play with it because it wasn't ours, all heck broke loose. So, now he has one all to himself. He's a bit disappointed because it doesn't have pedals. To combat this, he has us push him to the top of the driveway. Once there, he centers the car, gives a few pushes like the Flintstones, and he flies down the driveway. And yes, his hands are in the air likes he's on a rollercoaster! A thrill junkie in the making...

My Beach Friends

Liam has lots of fun making new friends at the beach...

Cape Cod 2010

Last week we went to the Cape with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Ray-Ray, Uncle Ben and "K". We had a great time. Liam wasn't as much of a fish as last year, but he loved making mom and dad climb up and down all the stairs - thank goodness the beach was right outside!!! Just when we got down to the beach, Liam would stick his feet in, say "cold", and then head right back to the stairs. Oh well... He did get lots of practice climbing stairs and when they got too much for him, he just said "up" and got a lift! And playing with all the fun sand creatures at low tide was a bunch of fun. As an added plus, Liam became an expert at everyone's names!

Here's Liam decked out in his beach gear... note, the glasses never came off. Even inside...

And Liam making a mad dash for the stairs... again...

Yes, Mom, you heard me right!

"I want to take the wagon for walk!" Liam will no longer go into his wagon voluntarily and take a ride. We first need to let him push (or pull, whatever his will desires at that point) until he gets tired. At that point he stops, gets in, has us unbuckle the strap (the one we are required to buckle before we leave - safety first), we buckle him up, and we shut the door.

According to google pedometer, my latest new toy (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/), our usual neighborhood walk is a little over 1 mile. Saturday, Liam's voyage trip, he pushed about halfway. No walk has been as long, but at least he tires himself out! Plus, we have a way to get him home when he desides he's had enough (a couple weeks ago, he saw one of these little toy cars in someone's driveway... we had walked there... he screamed the entire way home when I told him he couldn't play with it!)

Obviously, he takes his new job VERY seriously.

Swingset

Our neighbors Charlie and Sam got too big for their little swingset and got a new one, so they were nice enough to share. Liam is entertained in fits and starts, but entertained nonetheless. Here he is enjoying some time before the rain started... again. We're not complaining - the plants need it!

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

Liam discovered mom’s headband a few weeks back and has intermittently found it mildly amusing. Last night, he put in on and wouldn’t take it off. It stayed on all night and this am (picture taken with dad’s phone… sorry for the flash glare!), he apparently refuses to take it off. Good luck getting those spikes down, dad!

You know it's sunny when...

... Liam wants to put on his hat AND his sunglasses. He was insistant after months of ignoring the glasses altogether. Obviously, he can't stay serious for too long.

Happy Father's Day

In honor of Father's Day, Liam thought he'd try his hand at yard work - mowing the lawn, with a shopping cart, specifically. We haven't sprung for the 2nd lawnmower yet, but perhaps we should? Take note of the places Liam thinks need "remowing"! Happy Father's Day!

A Little Rain Won't Stop Liam

This weekend was a complete bust weather-wise, but that didn't stop Liam. Despite the drizzle, we drew with chalk (it's darker when the ground is wet - very exciting for Liam):

Played with cars and trucks:
And pulled the wagon everywhere:

This tuckered out Liam just enough to be happy to watch the World Cup with Dad. Here's to hoping next weekend brings nicer weather!

Easter 2010

Liam doesn't quite understand who the Easter Bunny is yet, but he definitely gets the eggs. He was a star at the Easter Egg Hunt (ok, so the eggs weren't hidden, but he did pick them up!) and can't wait for next year.

I found the lot of them...

I thought you said this was Cadbury?

Notre Who?

For St. Patrick's Day, my boss picked up these Notre Dame shirts for Liam. Here, Liam practices what to do for a touch down (we're talking general football knowledge here):

Of course, we had to make it clear what happens if you end up rooting for ND:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Fun in the Snow

For Christmas, Liam received his first sled from Nana and Papa. In one of the last snow storms (ok... one in January... I am a bit behind!), Liam was able to take it out for a test drive. As long as it didn't require getting his hands cold, Liam had a grand ol' time.

Christmas 2010

Last year Liam was barely moving; this year he made sure he made up for his immobility. We did make it through the holidays with the Christmas tree standing and the only broken item being a cat ornament that had its leg pulled off (Liam is so gentle). As a result, Santa Claus had Liam on his good list this year. Getting through the wrapping was initially a challenge as Liam got a bit confused... "Mom and Dad usually get mad when I rip things, but now they WANT me to?!?!" Nevertheless, Liam got into the swing of things. We look forward to next year as he starts to understand the holiday a bit more. Merry Belated Christmas!

Lookout Farm / Halloween

There's a farm in South Natick called "Lookout Farm". As we HAD to get Liam his first official pumpkin for Halloween, we decided to make it a pumpkin / apple picking exercise. Liam had a blast. There's a train that takes you out to the apple orchards where you can pick your own apples - the train was, by far, the biggest hit - and, if you don't have a sleepy child on your hands when that is done, a playground area at the end of the train ride. We hope to revisit next year when Liam can make his way around more easily (and doesn't have to break his nap into two pieces).

Once the pumpkin picking had been done, Halloween could officially begin. On Halloween, Liam did actually make it to the boarding neighbors' houses. He was his own pumpkin. Could he be any cuter (no bias here!)?

Happy Birthday Liam!

How time flies... Liam is 1! Can anyone believe it? We surely can't! He got to celebrate with all his friends and family. While a bit skeptical at first, he did manage to try the cake... and grimaced a bit through it...

As you can see, cake was much easier the second time around... Liam even attempted to blow out his own candles!

If you can handle some of my screaching, Liam's official 1st "Happy Birthday" as well as his cake tasting...

Fun at the Park

So, waaaaaaaaaaay back in September we brought Liam to the park right around the corner. He got to try his hand at the slide and the swings. He loved anything that let him go fast!

But most of all he let us how much he liked hanging out in the soccer net. Could we have a possible goalie on our hands?
